There has been research that confirm the connection between your mental state and your workout. Visualize your target muscle working as you complete every rep. Remember its not the amount of weight your using, but the effect of the weight on the muscle that leads to increased fitness level.

Know your workout before you start

Always plan your workout in advance so you are going to be mentally prepared for your training session. Knowing which muscle groups you are focusing on, the exercises you will be doing, the number of sets and reps you will be doing will put you on the fast track to your goals.
